MY STORY

San Antonio Wear Your Heart on Your Sleeve

In 2020, amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, I discovered a passion for giving back to my community. What began as creating cards, writing heartfelt letters, and making bracelets for assisted living residents in San Antonio grew into something much bigger. Inspired to make a lasting impact, I started SA Wear Heart on Your Sleeve--a small business dedicated to selling inspiring t-shirts to encourage others to take an active role in their communities. From the very beginning, 100% of the profits have been donated to local and military-related charities.

In 2024, my journey of service reached new heights as I was honored to become a Student Visionary for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). This role allows me to combine my entrepreneurial spirit and passion for service to support LLS's mission of curing blood cancers and improving the lives of patients and their families. From January to March, I will dedicate 100% of the profits from SA Wear Your Heart on Your Sleeve to this vital cause.

Beyond my business, I am proud to be an active and driven individual. My efforts have included supporting organizations like the Mitchell Chang Foundation, Bulverde Spring Branch Activity, Bulverde Humane Society, SAMMINISTRIES, and many others. These experiences have shaped me into a well rounded student-athlete-advocated for giving back.

I believe in living a life for purpose, inspiring others to make a difference, and wearing my heart on my sleeve---literally and figuratively. Thank you for joining me in this journey to bring hope and change to those who need it most.

My WHY on Becoming a Student Visionary

My cousin Kyle was diagnosed with leukemia at just 3 years old. He faced this battle  four times before being declared cancer free in 2011.  During those difficult years, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS) walked alongside of our family, offering support and hope when it was needed most. Now, this is my chance to give back.

Blood cancer is diagnosed every 3 minutes in the US--a statistic that is sobering and personal to me. Organizations like LLS make an incredible impact in those moments of uncertainty, though we don't realize how vital they are until we need them.

I feel so blessed to live my life---playing soccer, running cross country and track, driving, spending time with friends. But I know for many, these simple joys are out of reach because they are fighting for their lives. This is my WHY. I want to be part of an organization that stands by families in their darkest days. One day, I might be standing hand in hand with LLS or another organizaiton, and I want to know that I did everything I could to help others facing their toughest battles.

My heart is with those who are fighting leukemia, lymphoma, or any type of cancer, and I am committed to standing with them now.
